WHAT YOUR PUPPY SHOULD KNOW AT GRADUATION
Depending upon the program selected, the puppy’s age, temperament, and individual progress, your puppy should graduate with a working foundation in many of the following skills:
-
Respond to their name
-
Understand the training marker “yes”
-
Sit on command
-
Down on command
-
Go to place and remain there for a reasonable period
-
Come when called in low-to-moderate distractions
-
Walk more politely on a leash
-
Enter the crate on command
-
Remain calmer inside the crate
-
Wait more politely at doors
-
Show improved greeting manners
-
Settle more calmly inside the home
-
Ride calmly in a vehicle
-
Allow appropriate handling of the ears, feet, mouth, and body
-
Show increased confidence around appropriate people, sounds, surfaces, and environments
Graduation does not mean that training is complete. These skills must be practiced and reinforced consistently after the puppy returns home. Results will vary, and some puppies may progress more quickly in certain areas than others.
OWNER GO-HOME LESSON
Every Board & Train program includes a go-home lesson with the owner.
During this lesson, we demonstrate the commands, routines, boundaries, and handling techniques used throughout the puppy’s training. The owner will learn how to give commands correctly, reward appropriate behavior, correct unwanted habits, use the crate and place command, maintain leash manners, and continue practicing at home.
During the Go-Home Lesson, We Cover:
-
The commands your puppy has learned
-
Proper leash handling
-
Crate and household routines
-
Place training
-
Door and greeting manners
-
How and when to reward your puppy
-
How to respond when the puppy does not follow a command
-
A recommended daily practice routine
-
Questions about continuing training at home
The owner’s participation is essential. Consistency, practice, structure, supervision, and clear household rules directly affect the puppy’s long-term progress.

IMPORTANT TRAINING INFORMATION
Every dog is an individual, and training results will vary.
Progress depends upon the dog’s age, temperament, health, previous experiences, behavior, environment, the owner’s consistency, and the amount of practice completed after the program ends.
Board & Train provides a strong training foundation, but it does not replace the owner’s responsibility to continue training. Dogs may test boundaries or behave differently after returning to their home environment.
Consistent commands, routines, supervision, practice, and household rules are necessary to maintain progress.

-
Identical results for every dog
-

-
That a dog will respond the same way in every location or situation

TyCalK9 is an independent training business. Advanced obedience and personal-protection services are arranged directly with TyCalK9. Program acceptance, evaluations, pricing, scheduling, training methods, and services are determined by TyCalK9.
